Basketball, Beaches and BRACES!

Well, we are still in the middle of BASKETBALL!! The tournaments are killing me! We have to go out of town and it makes for a long day. They are fun though and the boys are learning so much. This past week Jacob had to guard a boy that was almost as tall as Gordon. At first I was scared but, Jacob got in there and played great! Ethan is playing well also!

We are really taking it easy this summer! I am working on my Masters and my current class is taking its toll on me but......I will get through it. Poetry is now all I think about. I am enjoying it though. Here are two poems that I wrote for the haiku chapter. There is a story behind them that I just can't share yet.

sweet magnolia tree

moonlight dancing in the sky

he silently weeps

Fullness of the moon

soft breezes in the night air

She dances in his dreams

Abbey lost her front tooth and is ready to lose the other one but......she will not let us near it. I guess it will fall out in time. Maybe by the time she goes to 1st grade.

We had to be at the orthodontist this morning at 7am for Ethan's braces. Then, we had to go consult with the oral surgeon. They are going to have to go in and expose his front tooth -- the trauma to his mouth when he lost the baby tooth when he was a one apparently has damaged it and it will not come in on its own. So, we are going to have to go in and get it. The braces will pull it down into place -- eventually. He does look pretty cute though and had them put GAMECOCK colors on. He is a GAMECOCK through and through!

We can't wait to get to the beach. We are going soon ~ if I can get my nerve up to go and make myself DO MY SCHOOLWORK!!!

Oh -- and Allison is engaged! She and Luke are getting married July 17th! I am so excited because I am the one that set them up! So, I feel responsible for this wonderful union. The night she got engaged, Christie and I broke into her house and had some refreshments waiting along with a Congratulations banner! We threw a little party for just the 4 of us that night! I guess some would say that me and Christie and Allison will do ANYTHING for a party! HA!!

I did the pictures at her brother's wedding this past Friday evening and this is from that night. Luke doesn't normally sport a cowboy hat -- he is a fisherman! And, has a BIG BOAT!!!

Hope everyone is having a great summer! Talk to you soon!
