In Memory of our sweet Baby Madi ~

January 17, 1997 - March 28, 1997

Some people only dream of angels......we've held one in our arms.

Our sweet, sweet baby Madi~ How I wonder what you would be doing if you had stayed here with us. Would you like softball, volleyball and soccer like your sisters? Would you be quiet and determined like Ellie or would you be scholarly and a bookworm like Michalee? I personally think that you are our girlie girl (since none of the rest are) and would like tea parties, shopping and ballet. I guess that is just wishful thinking on my part since that is so me and even Abbey would rather be outside with a ball than inside being girlie!

Both of your sisters and all of your cousins talk about you as if they knew you. I like to imagine that since you came and went home before any of them that you went back to heaven and told them how much fun they were going to have in our crazy family. Ellie told Oma this weekend that you were in her heart!

Our hearts still ache to hold you but are soothed knowing that you are in the arms of our heavenly father!

You were the bravest person any of us have ever known. If only we could touch 1/10th of the lives that you touched in your short time here!

You are our sweet Baby Madi and forever will be!

"I lift up my eyes to the hills-where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth."
Ps. 121:1,2

Charleston, Baseball & Easter! Spring is HERE!

The boys went on their 4th grade Charleston field trip. Gordon went with them since we had testing during the time that they went and I couldn't be away from my school. They had a great time and made many memories.

We also had opening weekend for Baseball & Softball. Jacob pitched his first official game and did great! Ethan did great also! We are not on our normal team this year so it will definitely be a learning year! This is the first year that they are allowed to steal bases and they love that! They started doing that in Fall Ball so that makes it a little more interesting.

Abbey is in her 3rd year of softball and hit her first homerun! Needless to say she was FULL of herself! She came into the dugout and said "Oh we are winning because of my homerun!" She definitely gets that from her daddy!

We also had a sweet Easter! We celebrated my brother's & Gordon's birthday also! I let the kids dye eggs and they really had a blast! It wasn't a mess like it normally is -- they really took their time to make pretty eggs!

A TRUE Blessing from above!

My cousin's little boy was born with a brain tumor and has truly blessed everyone that has ever met him. When she says he knows every word to every song - she is NOT exaggerating! I remember when he was little and would sit in front of CMT and sing each and every song that came on and never miss a beat!! I asked Tammy to write it so that I didn't miss anything! I hope it blesses you like it has me! And yes -- she and her children got all of the Sherbert genes with the blonde hair and blue eyes -- just like my Matthew!

Trent was born with a low grade astro cytoma brain tumor which was not found and resected until he was five months old. He underwent 6 weeks of radiation therapy after the tumor was resected which affected his development and which led to multiple surgerys related to other parts of the body. He is reading some now but on a very low level. When he was four years old he had his second brain surgery which the doctors advised us at that time not do the surgery and just take him home and let nature take its course, they said that he would never be any better than he was then (which at that time he couldn't even walk and hardly could even hold his head up). He will be 17 in June and he has been walking for about 12 years now, he feeds his own self, goes to the bathroom by himself and can sing every word to ANY country song that has been sung plus he knows almost all of the songs in the hymnals at church. This country singer that he is singing with(Michael Peterson) had 2 or 3 hits in the late 1990's, he sang some other artists songs because he didn't think Trent would know his songs but guess what...Trent knew every word to Michael's songs too which of course was very flattering to him plus Trent was in heaven that morning. When we went to his appointment that morning we had no idea about anyone being at the Shriner's hospital to sing and if we would have gotten finished and left even 5 minutes earlier we would have missed the whole thing. I think that God knew to put us there at the right time so that 2 people could receive a big blessing that morning. Trent and Michael both were blessed by each other. I think Trent made a life long friend that morning and I know I did.

Fun in the Sun....and Snow!

I think Spring is in the air! The weather was beautiful this weekend and we took full advantage of it!

Friday evening we had "Leap Year Ocktober Fest" and it was great! Great food and Great friends!

(The pics of Allison and Luke are from Tarentella but, Luke had to work and got to my house late so I forgot to take pics and didn't want to leave them out!) Chico didn't get to come because of baseball and I can't find a picture of him!

On Sunday, we went Snow Tubing with Mary Alice, Kevin and Will! We had a BALL after we showed up to the first Ski "Resort" that closely resembled something out of DELIVERANCE!! We finally ended up at Cataloochee and had a wonderful time. We have gone before and thank goodness we went yesterday because it was the last day of the season!
Deliverance Ski Tubing! WHAT?????

I am not sure who had more fun -- the kids or the adults?!

I almost forgot.......Abbey got her back handspring on the trampoline this weekend!
